Procurement Executive Resume Sample

Procurement CVs in Singapore often underplay the commercial dimension of the role. Buying is not the job. The job is securing reliable supply at the right cost under the right terms — and showing that your decisions produced commercial value.

What makes a strong Procurement Executive CV

Cost savings and avoidance are the headline metrics

Savings achieved, contracts renegotiated, cost avoidance through better terms — if your procurement work produced commercial value, quantify it. A percentage improvement against a baseline is far more credible than a general claim.

Category expertise matters in Singapore’s market

Indirect spend, IT procurement, logistics, professional services, raw materials — procurement skills are not fully transferable across categories. Be clear about the categories you have managed and at what spend value.

Supplier relationship management is strategic, not administrative

Managing a supplier panel, conducting supplier reviews, handling performance issues, and building strategic partnerships — these are different from simply raising purchase orders. Show the depth of your supplier management work.

Compliance and governance are Singapore-specific requirements

IRAS GST implications, government procurement frameworks, competitive tendering requirements — if your procurement work operated within any formal governance structure, show your understanding of it.

What to do

  • Include the total annual spend you were responsible for
  • Show at least two or three specific cost outcomes with figures
  • Demonstrate contract management experience — negotiation, terms, SLA management
  • Include supplier development or qualification experience
  • Show cross-functional collaboration with finance, operations, or legal

What to avoid

  • Describe procurement as purchase order processing only
  • Use ‘negotiated with suppliers’ without any indication of the outcome
  • Leave category spend value and supplier count out of your role descriptions
  • Ignore ERP or eProcurement system experience — it is expected at executive level
  • Claim strategic procurement experience without showing commercial outcomes

What a weak CV looks like

  • A procurement CV that reads as an administrative role
  • No cost outcome or saving mentioned anywhere in five years of experience
  • Supplier management described as relationship maintenance with no commercial evidence
  • Category expertise absent — leaving the reader unable to assess fit
