Customer Service Agent Resume Sample

· Keith Kwai

Customer Service CVs are often the most underwritten in the market. The candidates who stand out are the ones who understand that customer service is a commercial function — and write their CV accordingly.

What makes a strong Customer Service Agent CV

Customer outcomes, not just call handling

Response time, resolution rate, CSAT score, NPS contribution, escalation rate — customer service is measurable. If you have metrics, use them. If your employer measured them and you do not know your numbers, find out before you apply.

Channel experience matters and varies significantly

Phone, live chat, email, social, in-person — these are different skills and different demands. Be clear about which you handle and at what volume.

Product or service knowledge is an accelerator

Customer service agents with deep product knowledge resolve issues faster and escalate less. If you have built genuine product expertise in a role, that is worth stating explicitly.

CRM and ticketing system fluency is expected

Salesforce, Zendesk, ServiceNow, Freshdesk — name what you have used and at what level of complexity, not just that you used it.

What to do

  • Include at least one or two CSAT, NPS, or resolution rate figures
  • Show the volume and complexity of queries you handled
  • Demonstrate escalation handling or complaint resolution experience
  • Include any training, onboarding, or quality assurance contributions
  • Show channel range if applicable

What to avoid

  • Describe customer service as ‘answering queries’ and ‘resolving issues’ with no further specificity
  • Leave out performance metrics if they were tracked — they were almost certainly tracked
  • Ignore any cross-selling or upselling contribution if it was part of the role
  • Write a profile focused on soft skills only: empathy, patience, good listener
  • Undervalue the role — consistent high-quality customer service in Singapore is genuinely competitive

What a weak CV looks like

  • A role description that says nothing beyond ‘handled customer enquiries via phone and email’
  • Soft skills section as the most substantive part of the CV
  • No indication of the product, service, or industry context
  • Multiple roles with identical descriptions despite different companies and customer bases

Knowing the principles is one thing. Applying them to your specific background, role, and target market is another. That is what we do at GetThatJob. See how we can help.
