SG Jobs News: Singapore-led ASEAN network launched to track labour market trends, as report finds under 1% of regional jobs are green

A new ASEAN Labour Statisticians Network was launched on 27 October to help member states spot emerging labour market trends and plan their workforces, with MOM’s Manpower Research and Statistics Department leading it for five years, from 2026 to 2030, ahead of Singapore’s 2027 ASEAN chairmanship; an office in Singapore will coordinate its work and a regional portal will let countries share research and statistical methods. An ASEAN Green Jobs Report launched at the same forum found less than 1% of jobs in the region are currently in green occupations, and estimated Singapore could have between 5,400 and 127,300 renewable-energy jobs by 2050 depending on policy.
