Only about a quarter of employed residents with disabilities stayed a year with one employer

Ministry of Manpower data released for the first time in July shows that, as at 2025, only about one in four employed residents with disabilities had been with the same employer for at least a year, compared with 85% to 89% of local employees overall, based on Singapore National Employers Federation figures. The employment rate for residents with disabilities rose from 28.2% in 2018/2019 to 34.7% in 2024/2025, against a 2030 goal of 40%, but there is no target for retention. Measures announced by a government task force on 4 October include a new SG Enable Employment Support Office offering longer-term help after placement, an expanded Enabling Employment Credit, and new grants for customised in-house training and specialist support.
WorkRightSG, a sister site, sets out the disability protections under the Workplace Fairness Act for employers and jobseekers.
