How to mirror the language of a job posting honestly, so ATS software and human recruiters both take your resume seriously.
Read the job description and note the exact nouns it repeats — tools, certifications, functions. If you’ve genuinely done that work, use the posting’s own phrasing instead of a close synonym; ATS parsing matches on exact terms far more often than people assume.
The failure mode isn’t too few keywords, it’s keywords with no evidence behind them. A skills list padded with terms you can’t speak to in an interview gets you through the ATS and then costs you the room — every keyword you include should trace back to a real bullet point.
