The Tripartite Workgroup on Senior Employment released six recommendations on 26 October, which the Government has fully accepted, including moving the retirement age to 65 and the re-employment age to 70 from 1 January 2029. Other measures include a Flexi-Load Programme to help employers create part-time and fractional roles, higher recommended Employment Assistance Payments, more tax relief for seniors working past these ages, a new Re-Employment Credit from 2028, and stronger Workfare support for lower-wage seniors, with details due in the first half of 2027.
