CSA to pilot cybersecurity professional accreditation as AI reshapes defender roles

At Singapore International Cyber Week on 13 October, Senior Minister of State Tan Kiat How announced a Cybersecurity Professional Accreditation Framework, with a voluntary two-year pilot from the second quarter of 2027. A CSA-commissioned survey of 1,000 organisations found business judgement, technical depth and AI fluency will matter most as AI-enabled threats rise, while junior cyber roles are expected to be redesigned around more complex AI-supported work rather than replaced.
