Marketing Manager Resume Sample

Marketing Manager CVs are among the most inflated in the Singapore job market. Everyone has ‘driven brand awareness’ and ‘executed integrated campaigns.’ The CVs that get through are the ones that replace that language with numbers and decisions.

What makes a strong Marketing Manager CV

Revenue and pipeline, not activity

Impressions, reach, and engagement are metrics for reports to clients. Hiring managers want to know what your marketing produced for the business — leads, pipeline, conversions, revenue. If you have those numbers, they belong at the front of every role.

Show strategy, not just execution

A Marketing Manager who can only describe what they did — campaigns run, content published, events managed — reads as a coordinator. Show the thinking behind the approach and what it was responding to.

Demonstrate channel fluency without being generic

Every marketing CV lists digital, social, and content. Be specific about which channels you have managed end-to-end, at what budget, and what they returned.

Budget management is a differentiator

Not every marketing candidate has managed significant budget. If you have, say exactly what you managed and how efficiently. Cost per lead, ROI, year-on-year budget growth — these tell a story about commercial maturity.

What to do

  • Open each role with the marketing challenge or business context, then your approach, then the outcome
  • Quantify campaigns with at least two metrics: spend and return, reach and conversion, or similar
  • Show that you have managed agencies or vendors if you have — it signals seniority
  • Include cross-functional collaboration with sales or product where it happened
  • Be specific about industry or market — B2B and B2C require different signals

What to avoid

  • Use ‘drove brand awareness’ without defining awareness and how it was measured
  • List every platform you have ever posted on as a core skill
  • Describe marketing outputs without any reference to business outcomes
  • Write a personal statement that reads like a brand manifesto
  • Claim credit for team results without clarifying your specific contribution

What a weak CV looks like

  • A profile section that leads with passion for marketing rather than commercial results
  • Campaign descriptions that list the campaign name and channels with no measurable outcome
  • Skills section that lists ‘creative thinking’ and ‘attention to detail’ in a senior marketing role
  • No evidence of budget ownership or financial accountability at any level

Knowing the principles is one thing. Applying them to your specific background, role, and target market is another. That is what we do at GetThatJob. See how we can help.
