Full Stack Engineer Resume Sample
· Keith Kwai
Full stack is one of the most requested roles in Singapore’s tech market — and one of the most badly described on CVs. The problem is breadth without depth: candidates list everything, signal nothing, and leave hiring managers uncertain about what they actually do well.
What makes a strong Full Stack Engineer CV
Anchor your profile in your strongest stack
List what you work in daily, what you can architect independently, and what you can pick up with context. Do not present five languages as equally strong when two of them are tutorial-level.
Show that you understand the whole system
Full stack means you have opinions about how the front and back end talk to each other, how data flows through the system, and how deployment affects both. If you can articulate that, your CV reads differently from a junior who lists React and Node.
Separate personal projects from production work
Side projects are valuable evidence, especially early in a career. But treat them honestly — describe scope, purpose, and what you learned. Do not present a weekend project as enterprise-level work.
Context beats comprehensiveness every time
One well-described system you built — what it does, why it is architected that way, what it handles in production — is worth more than ten project names with no explanation.
What to do
- Group your technical skills into layers: frontend, backend, database, infrastructure/DevOps
- Include at least one example of a full-system decision you made and why
- Be honest about what is greenfield versus legacy maintenance work — both matter
- Show code quality habits: code review, testing standards, documentation
- Mention the scale your systems handle if it is significant
What to avoid
- Present a flat list of 30 technologies as your technical profile
- Describe yourself as ‘proficient in’ tools you have used once or twice
- Leave out backend depth if you are applying for full stack — it will come up in interview
- Ignore infrastructure entirely if you are targeting senior roles — some cloud awareness is expected
- Write a profile summary that could apply to any developer anywhere
What a weak CV looks like
- Skills section that reads like a GitHub star list
- Project descriptions that mention the stack but not the purpose or outcome of the project
- Roles that escalate in seniority on paper but show identical responsibilities throughout
- No evidence of any code quality or engineering standards practice
