Admin Manager Resume Sample

Admin Manager CVs often undersell the role — which is a mistake. In Singapore’s corporate environment, an effective Admin Manager keeps operational infrastructure running invisibly. The CV needs to show that you own that infrastructure and that you improve it.

What makes a strong Admin Manager CV

Process ownership, not task execution

The distinction between an admin executive and an admin manager is process ownership. Show that you designed, implemented, or improved administrative systems — not just ran them.

Stakeholder management is a real skill here

Admin Managers typically serve the whole organisation. Show that you managed up (to C-suite or directors), across (to department heads), and down (to administrative staff or vendors), and that those relationships worked.

Cost management signals commercial awareness

Office management, vendor contracts, facility costs — if you managed budgets or achieved cost savings in any of these, put it on your CV. It differentiates admin managers who think commercially.

Team management distinguishes manager from executor

If you managed administrative staff — directly or indirectly — show team size, how you structured work, and how you developed the team.

What to do

  • Show scope: how many people or departments you supported
  • Include any office relocation, system implementation, or policy rollout you led
  • Demonstrate vendor and contract management experience
  • Show where you identified and resolved an operational problem proactively
  • Include any HR-adjacent responsibilities: onboarding logistics, record management, facilities

What to avoid

  • List tasks like ‘scheduled meetings’ and ‘managed correspondence’ as standalone achievements
  • Ignore the scale context — admin for a 10-person team and a 500-person office are different CVs
  • Leave out any technology or systems you implemented or managed
  • Undersell the complexity of the role — admin management in a fast-growing company is genuinely demanding
  • Use passive language throughout: ‘was responsible for’ rather than ‘managed’ or ‘led’

What a weak CV looks like

  • A list of admin tasks with no indication of scope, improvement, or ownership
  • No mention of the organisation size or the demands of the role
  • Skills section listing Microsoft Office as a primary skill in a manager-level CV
  • No evidence of any initiative — only of tasks completed
