Digital Marketing Resume Sample Singapore
· Keith Kwai
Digital marketing looks like the easiest resume category to fake — everyone lists SEO, SEM, social media — and that’s exactly why it’s hard to stand out in. The candidates who get shortlisted are the ones who attach numbers to those words: traffic grown, cost per acquisition cut, ROAS hit, pipeline generated. Strip the metrics out and your resume reads the same as the next fifty in the stack.
Singapore’s digital marketing market isn’t really one job market — it’s three: in-house brand roles, agency positions, and startup growth functions. Each wants different vocabulary and a different definition of “results.” Work out which one you’re actually targeting before you write a word. That’s what separates a resume that gets shortlisted from one that clears the ATS and dies there.
What Digital Marketing Hiring Managers Actually Look For
Platform Experience — the Kind You’ve Actually Managed
Name the platforms you’ve run campaigns on, not the ones you’ve merely poked at. Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Programmatic (DV360, The Trade Desk), Shopee Ads, Lazada Sponsored Solutions — each one runs on different auction mechanics, different creative rules, different optimisation logic. A hiring manager can tell the difference between someone who managed a SGD 200K monthly Google Ads account and someone who boosted a few posts on a business page. Be specific about your budget authority and campaign types; vague gets you nowhere.
Performance Metrics — Match Them to the Role
B2C e-commerce hiring managers want ROAS, CPA, conversion rate, AOV, revenue contribution. B2B demand generation wants MQL volume, cost per lead, pipeline influenced, SQL conversion rate. Brand and content roles want reach, engagement rate, share of voice, organic traffic growth. Lead with the metrics that fit the job you’re applying for — a performance marketing candidate who opens with engagement rate is telling the hiring manager they don’t know the difference.
Analytics and Data Literacy
GA4, Google Search Console, Looker Studio, Tableau, basic SQL — the bar for data literacy in this field has moved up fast. At minimum, you should be able to pull your own reports and read the numbers without waiting on a data analyst. Built dashboards? Set up tracking? Worked with attribution models? Put it in. And if you’ve folded AI tools into your workflow, say so — that’s becoming a real differentiator.
In-House vs Agency — Frame Whichever You Have
Both are worth something, but they signal different things. Agency work signals breadth: multiple clients, categories, channel types. In-house work signals depth: ownership of one brand’s full funnel, P&L visibility, cross-functional collaboration. If you’ve done both, say so and frame each properly. Moving from agency to in-house? Spell out the transferable skills yourself — don’t make the hiring manager guess.
How to Structure the Resume
Professional Summary
Open with your specialism — performance marketing, SEO/content, social media, CRM/email, growth — the channels you lead on, and a metric that anchors the whole thing. Something like: “Performance marketing specialist with 5 years of experience managing paid search and social campaigns for FMCG and e-commerce brands in Singapore. Managed SGD 1.8M in annual ad spend with average ROAS of 3.4x across Google, Meta, and TikTok.”
Core Skills and Tools
Group your tools by function rather than dumping them in one list: Paid Media (Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads), Analytics (GA4, Looker Studio, Hotjar), SEO (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console), CRM/Email (HubSpot, Klaviyo, Mailchimp), Content (WordPress, Canva, Figma basics). Add certifications where you have them — Google Ads certified, Meta Blueprint, HubSpot certified — these double as genuine ATS keywords, not filler.
Work Experience: Every Bullet Needs a Number
Don’t write “managed Google Ads campaigns.” Write “managed SGD 45K/month Google Ads account, reducing CPA by 22% over 6 months through keyword restructuring and audience exclusions.” For organic or content roles, something like: “Grew organic traffic from 12K to 58K monthly sessions over 14 months through technical SEO audit remediation and topical authority content strategy.”
The Mistakes That Sink These Resumes
Most common one: listing tools as skills without showing what you did with them. “Experienced in Google Ads” means nothing. “Managed a SGD 30K/month Google Ads account with 4.1x ROAS” is an actual hiring signal.
Second one: agency scope with no context. “Managed 12 client accounts” is vague to the point of uselessness. “Managed performance campaigns for 12 clients across retail, F&B, and professional services sectors with combined monthly spend of SGD 180K” — now that’s specific enough to be credible.
