SEO Specialist Resume Sample

· Keith Kwai

SEO is one of the most measurable functions in marketing — which makes a vague SEO CV particularly hard to explain. If your work moved rankings, traffic, or conversions, those numbers belong on your CV. If they do not appear, a hiring manager assumes they did not move.

What makes a strong SEO Specialist CV

Rankings and traffic are table stakes, not enough on their own

Every SEO CV claims improved rankings. The ones that stand out connect rankings to business outcomes: organic revenue, lead volume, reduced paid search dependency. Show the business case for your SEO work.

Separate technical SEO from content SEO from link building

These are distinct skill sets in the Singapore market. Senior roles need strong technical SEO. Content-led roles need keyword strategy and brief-writing fluency. Be clear about where your depth is.

Tool fluency without analytical thinking is a junior signal

Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, GA4 — these are expected. What separates candidates is what they did with the data. Show your diagnostic process, not just your tool list.

International and multilingual SEO experience is a differentiator in Singapore

Singapore’s digital market is multilingual. If you have worked on Chinese, Malay, or other language SEO, or across multiple country domains, that is worth stating explicitly.

What to do

  • Lead with your biggest measurable SEO win — traffic growth %, ranking movement, revenue attributed to organic
  • Show site audit experience and what was found and fixed
  • Demonstrate content strategy and keyword research capability, not just implementation
  • Include experience with Core Web Vitals and technical performance if you have it
  • Show collaboration with developers and content teams — SEO rarely works alone

What to avoid

  • List tools as skills without demonstrating what those tools revealed or produced
  • Claim broad SEO expertise without specifying your depth in technical, content, or off-page
  • Use traffic numbers without context: ‘increased traffic by 200%’ from a base of 50 visits means nothing
  • Ignore algorithm update history — showing you navigated a major update builds credibility
  • Conflate paid and organic search on your CV without clarifying which was your responsibility

What a weak CV looks like

  • A skills section that lists every SEO tool ever made
  • Traffic numbers with no baseline, no timeframe, and no business context
  • No mention of how SEO strategy was developed — only how it was executed
  • A role description that reads ‘optimised content for SEO’ for every job over five years

Knowing the principles is one thing. Applying them to your specific background, role, and target market is another. That is what we do at GetThatJob. See how we can help.
